St. Vincent Memorial Hospital was established in 1906 by the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, Ruma, Illinois province. The original building accommodated 20 patients when it opened its doors. As the community needs grew, the hospital expanded, and the current facility was completed in 1954. Memorial Health System became a co-sponsor of St. Vincent Memorial Hospital in Taylorville in 1995, and the sole sponsor in 2007, when the hospital was renamed Taylorville Memorial Hospital.It has 25 licensed beds and offer an array of vital services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy rehabilitative services; cardiac rehabilitation; pulmonary rehabilitation; radiology and nuclear medicine; acute care/medical-surgical services; and surgery.
