Ashley Hallenbeck ,who is the coordinator, knowingly gave me false information regarding my insurance, which delayed my urgent need for my scheduled infusion . I spoke with Aetna multiple times to clarify that my long standing authorization for medication was still valid, which it was. Ashley told me that Aetna changed their policy and would no longer allow Kare Infusion to supply the medication. That was completely untrue. After advising her that I spoke with Aetna and that was not the case , Ashley told me that Kare Infusion would no longer honor the authorization because Aetna did not pay them enough. I spoke with Ashley several times about Kare Infusion providing the infusion service and medication that I had been getting under that valid auth and she told me on three calls that Kare Infusion would not perform the service because they were not making enough money. She told me I had to file under my pharmacy plan because “they pay more” The other plan does not cover my prescribed medication so it can’t be used. She advised me of the issue less than a week before my appointment. I asked why she didn’t call earlier so I could go somewhere else and she said they just received payment from the last visit. I verified (I have the transaction number) they had actually been paid electronically 20 days prior. If I had been notified then that Kare Infusion would not accept the amount reimbursed from Aetna (that they were contracted to accept) I could have gotten a new authorization for a better facility. I asked to speak to Dr. Kevin Stahl, the director, but still haven’t received any communication. Kare Infusion Center has put their financial greed over my health and well being, which is unethical.
