Overview of Piggott Community Hospital

Piggott Community Hospital strives to maximize its technology to better serve patients. We have introduced a computerized system to insure that tests can be interpreted with results back to your doctor quicker. Our partnerships with UAMS and Baptist Health of Little Rock allows us to consult with specialists through telemedicine. With specialized cameras and specially trained staff, visual evaluation of cases is possible. New methods of treatment — such as TPA for strokes — and the latest diagnostic capabilities for CT Scans with reduced radiation and sharper imaging are now available.

The first hospital was considered a state of the art institution and one of the finest hospitals in Northeast Arkansas. Because of Medicare and other government guidelines, the hospital was required to make extensive structural changes. Therefore, it was closed as an inpatient building in July, 1979. It is now an outpatient clinic for Doctors Muse and Duckworth. Currently, it is occupied by the Piggott Family Medical Clinic owned and operated by Doctors Sheridan, Blake and Mallard.

At the present time, plans are being made to expand the Piggott facility, the rural health clinics and home health care programs. Efforts are being make to improve technology and to drive the continuing mission of providing exceptional rural healthcare. Piggott Community Hospital is a 25 beds hospital.
