Very pleasant experience with planned c-section to give birth to twins. One twin discovered to have heart defect on third day of life. Rushed to UVA hospital for surgery. For 3 days since their birth I had told nurses I thought something was wrong with the sick twin and they told me he looked fine, no problems. Meanwhile the other healthy twin dropped his oxygen and went straight to NICU. Too much activity in the nice room I stayed in to recover, with nurses and other women who worked there coming and going. Most of the women were not informed about my situation, and they kept bouncing into my room and bringing me goody bags and candy while I was very concerned about both of my twin sons and trying to recover from c-section. This all happened nearly 9 months ago and the Henrico Doctors billing team is still trying to bill the wrong insurance company at my previous job for our stay at their hospital. Total billing disaster. Overall it was a nice place to stay after a c-section, etc. Lovely doctors, clean facility, good surgery team for delivery. Thank goodness they employed a pediatric cardiologist specialist, she and another doctor who works half the week at UVA noticed my son's problem while he was in the nursery. Thank you, Dr. Mary Falterman of Children's National Cardiology of Richmond!
