As a child, no matter where you’re from, you’ve probably been told to drink plenty of milk as it will help you get taller, grow stronger, and make your bones tougher. And even though this is true in its core, there are plenty of other benefits of drinking milk. However, since nowadays many milk-alternatives appeared on the market, it can be a bit difficult to understand which type of milk is actually good for you.

That said, here is a brief summary of different ways drinking milk can improve your health, as well as some of the alternatives you should try out.

Even though drinking milk is extremely beneficial for your health, you need to realize that not all people can enjoy a cup of organic cow’s milk. Some people are born lactose-intolerant, some have developed it through life and some people don’t consume any animal-based products – milk included. So, if you’re expecting a simple answer to what is the healthiest milk chances are you won’t actually get it. Every type of milk has its pros and cons so we’ll need to explore them a bit further in order to reach the answer.

Cow’s milk

Organic cow’s milk is a type of milk that contains a full profile of nutrients. What this means is that cow’s milk is rich in all the things milk should be rich in, such as fat, carbohydrates, and protein. Thanks to all of its natural properties, cow’s milk is great at preventing type 2 diabetes, various types of cancers, heart disease, and stroke. Since cow’s milk is or rich in natural nutrients, it does promote calcium production which benefits your bones. But as we mentioned earlier, not everyone can enjoy this type of milk due to either health reasons or personal choice. Other types of animal-based milk are also good options, but cow’s milk is certainly the most well-rounded one.

NUT MILK

Coconut milk, almond milk, and walnut milk are the most common types of milk made of nuts. This type of milk is made by combining water and nuts in order to get a drink that has all the natural benefits of the nuts in question. Of course, the obvious downside of this type of milk is that it’s absolutely off-limits to anyone who has any sort of nut allergies. However, a healthy individual can easily replace the cow’s milk with this alternative if they’re more interested in plant-based alternatives.

Seed Milk

Oat milk, soy milk, and rice milk are another alternative to regular animal-based milk. Many oat milks are additionally fortified with calcium, which makes them not only delicious but extra healthy. Soy milk, which is naturally derived from soybeans is super rich in healthy fats and protein, which makes it a perfect choice for vegans and vegetarians. Not only does milk contribute to better gut health, healthier bones, better-looking skin, and overall healthier organism, but it’s also a delicious drink that can be quite refreshing and versatile.
