ER staff had difficulty communicating with patients, even when everyone spoke English (even as a first language) -- apparently, a patient's perceived appearance creates language barriers; unduly, extremely impatient; would not or could not accept fingers held up as answers to numeric questions; no language tools provided when actual language barriers were present. Visibly incorrect information, that could affect administration of medication and test procedures, was entered into patient chart (and remains on file). Very long waits, without anyone checking up on patients. Some patients were placed in locked room, left with no call buttons, unable to access restrooms or other assistance. Other patients, presenting with potential slip/ fall risks, were let to get up and walk around. Method of testing entered inaccurately. Physician's Assistant unprofessional; rude; overheard mocking patient, swearing, loudly talking about symptoms (unrelated to provision of care); extremely dismissive; condescending; did not listen; seemed to have no relevant education of the presented issue; recommended gross overuse of over-the-counter drugs. After Visit Summary and Chart contain false and contradictory information; care not provided and diagnostics not administered were entered as provided / employed. Several relevant symptoms were ignored, and symptoms & experience were overall egregiously minimized. The diagnosis was a mere repetition of a symptom -- actually, presented symptoms were more informative than the dx. Would not recommend the PA, nor rude ER intake staff, for patients; would not hire as medical staff (nor customer service), if at all.

I had to be admitted into the emergency room due to extremely high blood pressure causing an awful pounding headache after the birth of my first child and the wait time to be seen was absolutely horrible and wasn’t seen for a few hours after checking in and then when I was released they couldn’t explain to me as to what my problem was or what caused it and released me without confirming if I had a ride home after I was hooked up to several monitors and medications and could hardly see straight!
