Merit Health River Oaks opened in Flowood on January 6, 1981, with 100 licensed beds. Approximately 190 medical staff members were on board when the hospital opened. The hospital was partially owned by outside investors until October 1986 when Merit Health River Oaks purchased all stock for total individual (non-corporate) ownership.
Our care services include education, preventive and diagnostic care, as well as treatment and recovery, provided by a medical staff of physicians and specialists. Care provided in our medical center, as well as many of our multi-specialty clinics and physician offices, includes advanced imaging, minimally-invasive surgery and rehabilitative services.
