My husband had a very complex medical history involving brain tumors, brain infections, and missing skull bone on one side of his head. The final time he was admitted through the ER for a fall that dislodged a skin graft covering an area with no bone. With his complex medical history, our experience over seven years was some doctors were overwhelmed and walked away because they had no idea what to do and their egos were so large they would call in others doctors or consult or discuss the situation with me so we could get a postivie outcome and resolution. This final ER and hospital admission was one of the most postiive we had in Joplin. The hospitalist who cared for my husband was wonderful. He was not afraid to admit my husband's case was way beyond his pay grade and he worked diligently to take the best care of my husband possible. I would highly recommend Mercy if you are in need of a GOOD healthcare facility or hospital.
