Scheduled an induction for this morning so my husband wouldn't miss the birth of his first child before a work trip to Cali.

Was informed when we arrived at 5 a.m. today that they would not admit us if we had our 13 YO with us. They said he couldn't wait in the labor and delivery lobby, in our room, or any other place in the hospital unless my husband stayed with him the whole time, effectually missing the birth and leaving me to labor alone because having my son there is "a safety issue."

They did say they would admit me alone though! So, it's safe to say I won't ever be going back to Central Baptist and obviously I don't recommend their heartless, bureaucratic services.

My husband actually had to remind me of the quality of their care I recieved a year ago when they left me to wait hours on a gurney in a hallway in the emergency room with COVID alone (they told me then that my husband and son had to leave the lobby and couldn't wait with me then too, go figure) while they treated everyone else first, after the check in nurse forgot to turn in my registration information for 2 hours.

I was suffering from COVID pneumonia and they did little to nothing except give me saline and a Tylenol and one steroid pill four hours later. Had to go to Saint Joseph a day later, where I actually received proper, safe care and treatment for the pneumonia and COVID and compassionate doctors who didn't prioritize liability over the "safe care" they care so much about. If I had remembered it was Central Baptist, I'd have never chosen a midwife in a practice that uses their building, let alone scheduled something so important to have it twarted.
