Ohio County Hospital realized a decade long dream in 1936 with the construction of a medical clinic in Hartford under the leadership of Dr. Marion Crowder.
In 1953, Dr.Oscar Allen began an effort to acquire financing for a hospital. Three years later in 1956, a 30-bed facility opened on land donated by Leslie B. Carden, a Hartford businessman and civic leader. Since that time, the hospital has undergone several major constructions and renovation projects.
The services provided are Allergy, ENT, Emergency Services, General Surgery, Heart Care, Gynecology, Pain Care, Rehab Services, Respiratory Therapy, Medical Surgical Unit.

My husband and I have been a part of the Ohio County Healthcare network in Hartford Ky for many years and tho we live closer to a MAJOR hospital we prefer to drive We have the BEST Dr Deb Clark. This woman knows no bounds and will stop at nothing to find the causes and conditions and get you well or will find someone in her network who can. I think what I like most is that its not just a "business" to her. You can tell She cares and doesnt just herd you thru. But boy she be the first to let you know how she feels about any unhealthy behaviors. My husband had a Covid test and we were worried about weekend. She said if it comes in they call me at home and ill call you from my home. This hospital and Dr have a small town atmosphere withbig city experience which is something you dont see anymore. Again we are so happy with the service of the Ohio County Healthcare network. They have seen us thru middle age to turning into senior citizens and will continue till death. I cannot say enough about them and I do to anyone looking for a healthcare home.
