Overview of Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital

For over 90 years, Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital has cared for the citizens of Schuyler, Cass, Brown and southern Fulton Counties. Culbertson is a 22-bed Critical Access Hospital that employs more than 200 staff members who provide round-the-clock-care and support services for our patients. In addition to its in-patient services, Culbertson maintains a 24-hour-a-day emergency department as well as laboratory services. Additionally, we offer cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation, imaging, outpatient geriatric psychology, surgical services, therapy services, wound clinic, and multiple outpatient specialty clinics. The hospital also has family practice clinics in Astoria, Beardstown, Rushville, and Table Grove.

My hometown hospital, they are good for all your basic medical needs, but you cant expect such a small hospital to be able to handle the work of a bigger hospital.

It's great that there is a facility in the area, but more often than not, when my sister and brother in law takes my nieces or nephews there, they wind up being sent to Springfield. Most recently it was for a broken arm and they told them they'd have to go to Springfield because they couldn't care for it.

So, the hospital is great for the basics, but not too much else in our experience.
