In 1974, The Connecticut Hospice became America’s first hospice. Since then we have continued to set the national standard for home and inpatient hospice care and have become a leader in palliative care.
We currently employ over 200 people and collaborate with over 50 Connecticut hospitals, assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and home care providers. Our 52-bed inpatient facility is a licensed hospice and palliative care hospital providing 24/7, expert symptom and pain management in a beautiful waterfront setting.
We have the only dedicated inpatient hospice hospital in Connecticut. The mission of The Connecticut Hospice, Inc. is to provide quality, compassionate and competent hospice and palliative care to patients suffering from irreversible illness, and to members of their families. Care shall be interdisciplinary in nature, allow for family decision-making and participation in care, and shall seek to enhance the quality of life for as long as life lasts.
