St. Vincent’s Birmingham was founded in 1898 by the Daughters of Charity as a ministry dedicated to spiritually centered, holistic care designed to sustain and improve the health of the community as well as its citizens. The all-private room facility is a 409-bed, acute care hospital offering a spectrum of care ranging from a state-of-the-art robotics surgery program to the first Heart Valve Clinic in the state. The hospital specializes in medical services including oncology, cardiology, women’s and children’s services, orthopedics/sports medicine, neurology, community/corporate wellness services, and surgical services. St. Vincent's Birmingham has a long history of recognition, including being named the “Best Hospital to Have a Baby,” “Best Birthing Suites,” “Favorite Hospital,” and the Most Wired list for Hospitals and Health Networks.

The facility itself and the administrative staff was a nightmare. None of the elevators worked, and there was no signage to direct you to a non-elevator entrance. The Andrew's Sports Medicine Staff was great, but the general front desk and billing staff was very difficult to deal with.
