Edgecumbe Medical Center (MEMC) is an acute, specialty, primary- and behavioral-health provider committed to delivering comprehensive medical services to anyone living, working, or visiting Southeast Alaska. The Emergency Department at Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center is a Level IV Trauma Center staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by board-certified physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and registered nurses who specialize in care for patients with serious illnesses and injuries.
Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center Critical Care Services provides comprehensive, holistic and culturally sensitive, multidisciplinary management of critically ill patients. Our Swing Bed Program emphasizes rehabilitation and features specialized nursing care. The program is for patients who meet additional special criteria and no longer require acute care in the hospital but need additional short-term care before going home.
