Homer Medical Center expansion is complete! Thank you Steiner Construction, the Kenai Peninsula Borough, and the support of the community! The project added 5,584 square feet, including seven new exam rooms, a procedure room, phlebotomy draw room, lab and imaging. The remodel created additional waiting areas in the clinic, a conference room, additional staff break area and additional office space, which allowed the billing office to vacate a leased building and relocate into the newly expanded main facility.
The expansion, publicly funded through South Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area general obligation bonds, was necessary to allow for additional practitioners to help address the growing demand for primary care on the southern peninsula. Since the expansion has been completed, two additional providers have started practicing, and one more is expected in July, bringing the total number of providers to 16.
