The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh was conceived in 1960 and given the responsibility to broaden the horizons of medical knowledge by intensive research in the field of health. Its main aim is to provide high quality Patient care. It is a Super Multi-Speciality hospital which is providing high quality care to the patients of all age group from all over India, as well as Emergency services round the clock to the seriously ill patients with highly specialized medical and surgical services.
The departments of Neurology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology and Nuclear Medicine have laboratory facilities, which can be counted as the best in the country.
The department of Immunopathology is a surveillance and diagnostic centre for AIDS and can boast of the most sophisticated laboratory in Immunopathology in the country.
Nuclear Medicine facilities are available at PGI for investigating and diagnosing a number of diseases related to brain, heart, liver, spleen, thyroid, kidneys, lymphatics, etc.

Mostly it was good. Staff was good and cleanliness was appreciable. Waiting time for everything from registration to consultation to procedure to report analysis was a bit on higher end but that is majorly because of large number of people showing up.

Visited the doctor for severe skin rashes. She was polite, patient and listened to all the problem and prescribed medicine. She even checked during the course if I was keeping well and medicines have been reacted. \nThanks Doctor.

Nurse asks many questions about the case to the patient. Not sure why it is necessary since patient has to repeat everything to the doctor anyway.

It is a shame, when you see a facility that appears to be there to help people, but causes more harm. One size doesn't even come close to fitting all in a facility that is supposed to help those with mental challenges.

The staff are absolutely fantastic, expecially the Consultant, who was totally on top of everything, despite the number of patients being treated in the unit. He arranged for all the necessary tests to be carried out, and explained everything to myself and my partner in a friendly, clear and informative way.
I cannot praise the unit and its staff enough. They are brilliant.
