Dr. McCarthy, a board-certified surgeon, earned his medical degree from the University of South Alabama School of Medicine as well as a Bachelor of Science in genetics from the University of Georgia. He completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. During his residency, he served as Educational Chief Resident and participated in multiple research studies covering the areas of trauma surgery, cell biology and vascular surgery.
