Overview

Emily Porter is a board-certified family and sports medicine physician. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI and earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She completed her internship and residency in family medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her fellowship in sports medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Dr. Porter's practice is focused on exercise as medicine and treating sports-related injuries. Additional medical interests include care of the female athlete.

Dr. Porter is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. She is also a past and current team physician for various sports teams at the high school, college, and professional levels.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exercise including running and lifting weights, cooking, and reading. Dr. Porter is married with two children. They also have two dogs. As a family they love to travel. They have a cabin up north where they love to spend time during the summer.

Dr. Porter coaches and serves as a team manager for some of her children’s sports teams. She also volunteers for sports medicine coverage for local athletic events.
