I am a retired Army Helicopter Pilot that was in near perfect health at age 60 when I retired. I am now nearly 74 and have mild/moderate COPD. I had a few episodes over the winter that made me think that I might have an underlying heart condition (lots of family history) and was in danger of having a serious "silent" heart attack. I was referred to Dr. Shah by my family doctor. Obviously, I was feeling stressed. I took a lot of data to my first appointment with Dr. Shah. He took his time and analyzed all of it. He asked good questions, gave me an EKG and listened intently to my heart and lungs. He calmed me down by telling me that I shouldn't assume the worst until we had done some testing. He did not immediately jump to the conclusion that we needed to do any "invasive" procedures. He ordered a complete cardiac CT scan and ultrasound (both with the IV fluid injections for good contrast). The results came back and we reviewed them together. His communications ability are excellent. He carefully explained the results to and made some minor recommendations. I turned out that I only have minor blockage and mild valve regurgitation. Typical for my age. He assured me that I could safely resume moderate aerobic exercise. I am relieved (for now). Dr. Shah has a video about himself that is well worth watching. He is well qualified and assures the viewer that he will treat all patients like he would treat his own family members. I can tell you that he certainly made me feel that way. If you live in Eastern/Central Ohio and feel that you need to see a Cardiologist, I can highly recommend that you get an appointment with Dr. Shah. I would also like to praise the entire Genesis Team at the hospital in Zanesville, OH. The administrative, medical and technicians treated me efficiently and with kindness and total respect the day they administered the tests that Dr. Shah had ordered.
