Robert O. Bonow, MD is a cardiologist and the director of the Center for Cardiovascular Innovation at Northwestern Medicine, and is a past president of the American Heart Association. His practice focuses include coronary artery disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and structural heart disease. He is recognized for his research and teaching in a variety of cardiac diseases, including coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and heart failure. Dr. Bonow is the Goldberg Distinguished Professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where he is vice chairman of the Department of Medicine. From 1992 to 2011, he served as chief of the Division of Cardiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
