Dr. Lank:
Just recently my husband (Conrad Fernandez) went to NW emergency with a severe nosebleed., (I found your name on a prescription). He was treated and sent home with instructions. Later the same day (late p.m.) he had another nosebleed and because of severity had to go to NW again. It was a frightening nosebleed i.e. huge clots and oodles of blood coming from nose/mouth and the incoming attendant thought it was coming from his eyes (!) also. He was in emergency many hours and somehow the bleeding was controlled but he was told to follow up with ENT a/s/a/p. Because of the severity of the bleed and he suffers from BP and gastric problems including colon resection and hernia operation in recent years, I was wondering if there may be an underlying cause and the nosebleed is just a symptom. Having lost a few family members to sudden deaths in recent years, I tend to look for other causes. Many thanks.
