Dr. Milla was born in Honduras and raised in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He attended The University of Massachusetts, Amherst for his undergraduate studies. He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. Dr. Milla completed a General Surgery Residency at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts and both a Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency and Fellowship at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, New York. Board certified in Thoracic Surgery, Dr. Milla’s clinical interests include cardiac procedures of the mitral valve including open and minimally invasive repair (surgical, Edge to Edge repair, Trans-apical Harpoon), tricuspid valve procedures, cardiac ablation for atrial fibrillation, coronary bypass surgery, aortic valve and root replacement procedures, ascending aortic aneurysms and aortic dissection repairs.“I am thoughtful and caring. I work to communicate in ways to ensure patients understand their clinical condition and therapeutic options.”Married to another healthcare provider, Dr. Milla and his wife moved to Denver for her pediatric radiology position. When not working, Dr. Milla and his wife enjoy spending their time with their two sons and rescue dog. Dr. Milla decompresses by working out, running, skiing, watching live music, travel and playing classical guitar.
