Suzanne O’Rourke, NP has enjoyed helping others since she was a little girl caring for her grandmother. Combined with her love of science and biology, nursing was a natural fit. She obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing in 2004 from Central Community College in Nebraska, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2013, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Arizona State University in 2017. Clinically, she has spent a great portion of her career caring for patients with cancer, bone marrow transplants, open-heart surgery, and acute care after stroke or debilitating injury. Orthopaedics has always been an area of interest, and the opportunity finally presented itself – the timing was right. Suzanne is currently in residency for a national certification to be the First Assist in the Orthopaedic Operating Room. She participated in a six-day training course to gain further knowledge in this area. She greatly enjoys her time in the operating room, knowing that it will help the patient have a better quality of life.

When she is not caring for patients, she enjoys spending time being a soccer mom, attending ASU games with her husband and young son, riding horses, and volunteering with the Special Olympics on the bocce ball court. She is an active member of her community, participating in Tempe Community Agency programs such as Meals on Wheels, and is an active member of the Arizona Nurses Association Political Action Committee.
