Our experience with Dr. Matt Larsen and Ascend was the worst we could ever possibly imagine.
The PA noted “patient is markedly ill.” Dr. Larsen significantly changed our son's course of treatment and, after a two week followup, didn’t reschedule our son for over two LONG months. No monitoring either. Our bipolar son explicitly told Dr. Larsen he didn’t like how long it took to get back in to see him.
Our son’s condition seriously declined. We desperately tried, with our son’s permission, to reach Dr. Larsen for an appointment or phone call only to have receptionists/gatekeepers screen out our urgent pleas. No-one called us back. Unfortunately, our beloved son took his own life before the two month appointment came. We believe that the lack of monitoring and patient contact were significant factors in our son’s death. We truly hope that Dr. Larsen and the receptionists that he has trained are willing to reflect on their actions and consequences so that another child might live.
