These medical professionals treat different age groups. For instance, Pediatricians are limited to providing healthcare services to infants and children up to the age group of 18, whereas, general physicians treat those beyond 18.

Pediatricians can treat children right from their birth until they are adults. However, the frequency of visits to a pediatrician would vary depending on the age of the child. For instance, from birth until 2 years of age, the visits can be very frequent - almost once or twice every month. From 2-5, the visits can be reduced to once or twice a year. After 5, the visits can be once a year.
