Laura L. DeMaria, RN, MSN, CPNP, specializes in pediatric nursing, including comprehensive and acute care for infants, children, and adolescents with and without chronic illness. ">"I wanted to be a nurse and take care of people, especially children, since I was 4 years old." says Laura. "It's important to me to ensure that each of my pediatric patients receives the best care possible," she adds. "For this reason, I believe in a comprehensive approach to health and wellness that includes considerations for each patient's developmental stage, physical health, psychological / emotional health, behavioral health, and cognitive health from birth to young adulthood."

To her credit, Ms. DeMaria earned the Wagner College Excellence in Community Nursing Award and Overlook Medical Center Honorarium for fostering excellent pediatric care. "I have enjoyed being a preceptor for graduate pediatric nurse practitioner students for more than 15 years. It's gratifying to inspire my students to make thorough, thoughtful clinical assessments and teach them the importance of being respectful to and caring of each patient and family," she says.

Ms. DeMaria is a lifetime member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. She has been featured in the New Jersey Family "New Jersey's Favorite Kids' Docs" listings.
