Melissa Hosea, a native of Meridian, Mississippi, is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner and is an active member of American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Melissa began her career as a registered nurse in the SICU unit and medical/surgical unit in Birmingham, AL. She also worked in pediatric surgery, where she spent 9 years as a surgical nurse and nurse manager at The Children’s Hospital of Alabama. Melissa continued her career in surgery after becoming a nurse practitioner, where she was a First Assist in Women’s Health for several years. After moving to the Atlanta area, she worked in pediatric orthopedics and pain management. She has been practicing pain management since 2013.
