Dr Shaw preformed lower back surgery on my wife a couple of years ago with no relief from the pain. After many more visits over a couple of years with Dr Shaw and more MRIs he told my wife that she had a chronically damaged nerve. She sought a 2nd opinion with a different doctor and hospital. The 2nd opinion didn't understand how Dr Shaw missed the fact that the MRI showed a clearly pinched nerve. After surgery with the 2nd opinion my wife is recovering pain free. Incompetent is a strong word, but he can't read an MRI. Also, the office staff at Lyerly Neurosurgery fail to return your calls and have an uncaring attitude.
