Interventional Cardiology
Dr. Ptasnik grew up in Northern Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine and his Fellowship in Cardiology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.Dr. Ptasnik is one of the original coronary interventionalists in Denver, training with Dr. Andreas Gruentzig in 1980. He has been in private practice with Colorado Heart and Vascular since 1981. His additional clinical interests include coronary disease in women and the early diagnosis and treatment of coronary disease. Dr. Ptasnik has been the head cardiologist of the professional basketball team, the Denver Nuggets, for many years.Outside of the office, Dr. Ptasnik loves to spend time on his cattle ranch, enjoying his horses.
