He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology at the University of Texas at Austin and his Doctor of Osteopathy at the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center - Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he also served as Chief Resident.
