C. Andrew Brown, MD received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi. He then completed his internship and residency at University of Mississippi Hospitals and Clinics (UMC) in Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Brown is board certified in internal medicine. Dr. Brown has had the distinction of being the only person to have ever served two years as Chief Resident in Medicine at UMC. After residency, he went on to earn a Master of Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health. He served as PI of two multi-million dollar grants, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality in patient safety and medication error. He served as PI on two National Institute of Health grants which investigated hypertension and the prevention and risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease. Clinically, he was the director of UMC's Cardiometabolic Syndrome Clinic along with a large primary care practice. Dr. Brown has taught numerous students and residents the details of ambulatory medicine.Starting September 15, 2022, Dr. Brown will only see patients that are part of his Piedmont VIP program.
