Overview

Valerie A. Gustave, MD, MPH is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. She received a B.A. from Wellesley College and her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Prior to entering medical school, she received a Master’s in Public Health at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Her research in health promotion and disease prevention earned her the Community Scholars Award: Special Interest Project from the Centers for Disease Control.

Dr. Gustave completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Weill Cornell New York Presbyterian Hospital and fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women’s Hospital. At Brigham, she presented original research and was the recipient of the prestigious American College of Gastroenterology Clinical Research Award.

Her clinical expertise encompasses all aspects of gastroenterology and endoscopy with specific interests in diseases of the pancreas, women’s digestive health, colon cancer screening, acid reflux disease and Celiac disease.

Dr. Gustave is an attending physician at Lenox Hill Hospital and NYU Langone Medical Center where she enjoys teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Her patient-first philosophy fuels her passion for individualized care.

Dr. Gustave is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Pancreatic Association.
