Gastroenterology
Board- certified in gastroenterology and hepatology, Dr. McDonough earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at Washington University School of Medicine, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, and fellowships in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. During his fellowship training, he participated in the Rural Area Medical Outreach program providing colorectal cancer screening to the underserved population in southwestern Virginia. On staff at DePaul Hospital for more than 10 years, Dr. McDonough serves as medical director of the Hepatitis C Clinic.
A member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterology Association, he has authored several articles for medical publications and has received numerous honors and awards, including the DePaul Hospital Compassion Award.
