Dr. Mathew had treated me for Crohn's disease for 20+ years. He had his own scientific approach to my particular case. Rather than traditional trends of biologic infusions/injections he treated me with drugs like prednisone, pentasa, etc. He was especially talented at performing the dreaded colonoscopy. He showed me as he went through my ulcerated ileum. He explained what was causing my pain and loose stools (diarrhea). He performed a great surgery back in 1998. I believe he has retired but if you have the chance to see him, his expertise is in Crohn's disease, His bedside manner is friendly, real and gentle - sensitive to how painful that disease can be, even when I was irritable from pain, he was wonderful. He always had great nurses.
