Family Medicine
I chose to become an advanced practice provider because I like learning about people, their behavior and their motivations. I also like the challenge of medicine in its complexity and also changing nature. Being a physician assistant nicely combines these two interests. My approach to patient care is to try to take the time to listen to the patient and their concerns, and I like to partner with my patients in shared decision making for cultivating treatment plans. My areas of clinical interest include mental health and substance abuse, weight-loss management, women’s health, and preventive care. Outside of work, I like to hike, read, travel and take care of all of my pets.
Family medicine doctor or Internist is someone who specializes in diagnosing and treating illnesses, diseases, and health problems. They are legally licensed to practice medicine, though they do not go through the same rigorous schooling as doctors. However, these professionals are more than able to help patients with most medical conditions, and they work alongside doctors to ensure they can give adequate care to their patients.
