Diet and Nutrition
My road to dietetics began with a personal health struggle in dealing with life-long pain from a chronic disease. Nutrition soon became a central focus in managing my symptoms and improving my quality of my life. I was intrigued with the dynamic power of nutrition and its expansive application across many domains of health and well-being. I became a dietitian in order to help others reach their health goals through a philosophy of empathy, encouragement and education. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my church and family, traveling, gardening, and hanging out with my chickens.
A dietitian is a healthcare professional who creates nutrition plans for individual patients, schools, nursing homes, and other organizations. Dietitians determine the dietary needs of patients, create and modify meal plans, offer nutritional counseling to their patients, and track patient weight loss and weight gain for progress.
A pediatrician is a healthcare professional who specializes in treating children. They offer physical, behavioral, and mental care for children from birth until age 18. They diagnose and treat common childhood illnesses and health problems as well as more serious health conditions.They also monitor children with checkups to make sure they are growing properly and hitting the correct milestones.
