I had a follow up visit with Dr. Rojek at Gottschalk Medical Plaza. Before meeting the doctor, a nurse asked me whether I am comfortable if he visits me with trainees and I mentioned that I am NOT comfortable and would like to meet the physician himself only due to privacy reasons. A minute later, two trainees entered the room and insisted to visit me, which I asked them that I am here only to meet Dr. Rojek. So, they left. Then Dr. Rojek came in and at the beginning he said that he prefers to visit me with the trainees and if I do not agree to that then he cannot see me anymore and I should visit another dermatologist.
I am well aware of patient's rights and privacy. Additionally, having more than the necessary people in the small exam room should put us all expose to potential COVID-19 infection now that there is an order in place in California.
Having said those, I felt threatened that I will not be taken care of by him if do not agree to have his trainees in the room and I also felt intimated because he did not respected my wish for privacyI.
In my life, I have never complained about any physician ever. However, I feel Dr. Rojek behavior is totally inappropriate.
