Dr. Burkholder is on staff at New York Presybyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital since June 2020. He was on staff at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn from 2017-2020. Prior to opening a private practice in Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Burkholder worked for four years at Alaska Colorectal Surgery in Anchorage, Alaska. He was one of three colorectal surgeons providing specialized care in the state of Alaska. During this time he also served as General Surgery Sub-Section Chair at Providence Hospital and Trauma Director at Alaska Regional Hospital. Dr. Burkholder received his B.A. with Honors in 1999 from the University of Manitoba. He received his M.D. from New York University School of Medicine in 2003. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga in 2009. He then completed a colorectal surgery fellowship in 2010 at the University of Texas, Houston. He is board certified in General Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery.
