Dr. Kim specializes in the surgical treatment of complex conditions involving the heart, lung and vascular system. He has extensive experience in high risk coronary artery bypass graft surgery, heart valve surgery, minimally invasive lung surgery, endovascular aortic aneurysm repair, carotid surgery and implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators. Dr. Kim is a member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare experts who are dedicated to improving the lives of patients and their families through compassionate and high quality surgical care.

Dr. Kim is the Director of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Citrus Memorial Hospital and the Director of the Structural Heart Program. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and is a distinguished Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Kim received the Physician?s Excellence in Healthcare Award in 2017 and the Frist Humanitarian Award in 2018 for his contribution to exemplary patient care. In 2010, he and others founded the Mended Hearts of Citrus chapter, a support group for patients recovering from heart disease. Under his leadership, the hospital has received the highest quality rating for cardiac surgery by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Dr. Kim is actively involved in teaching the next generation of healthcare providers through mentorship and scholarship programs. He regularly participates in medical missions to improve global health delivery and training across the world.
