Horrible! My fiancé had surgery on his shoulder in October and Dr. De Marco was the assigned anesthesiologist. He was super unprofessional and showed zero compassion towards him. His surgery was scheduled for 9 am and he showed up over an hour late and he also talked down to us as if we weren’t intelligent. My fiancé is on ACCCHS health insurance because he is a law student and does not currently work and Dr. De Marco as well as other banner staff members treated us as if we were low life individuals who take advantage of “free” government services, which isn’t the case at all. Dr. De Marco also placed a nerve blocker in his shoulder which was inserted into the wrong nerve. My fiancé has a broader build and when he was performing the ultrasound to find the nerve he pressed super hard on his chest, bruising his sternum, not seeming to care. After he woke up from surgery he was in an IMENSE amount of pain, which he shouldn’t have been if the nerve blocker was put in right it should have lasted 24 hours. I called his surgeon with concern about the pain he was in because the pain medicine he was prescribed wasn’t cutting it and he also was unprofessional (I had to call twice before he even called me back) and brushed it off. Overall, really disappointed with Dr. De Marco and Banner Health as a whole.
