I visited the angel medical center emergency room with severe mental health issues, and very deep in addiction, but was finally ready for some help, so I checked myself into the ER as a voluntary commitment to a detox facility, where I could receive medical and mental health care. The lady registering me was very rude, then I was thrown into a room with all my personal belongings and clothes taken from me. The doctor was extremely rude, and seemed to careless that I was begging for help. I ended up spending 3 days in the ER before they transferred me to a detox. During that time I wasn’t allowed to make any phones, have any visitors, and was made to stay in my room with the door shut at all times (which was filthy and actually had dried blood on the floor that did NOT belong to me,) except to go to the restroom. The food was horrible, and nobody, including my family, could bring food into me. I had an open wound on each arm, and finally the second night I was there I asked the nurse if she could please look at them because I was afraid one was infected. On the third morning I begged to take a shower because I hadn’t been given the opportunity to take one, much less given any toiletries or towels. After midnight on the third night or early fourth morning they transferred me to a detox, but by that point I was so miserable from being in that horrible horrible hospital, I was just ready to go home, and could care less about treatment. Luckily 2 months later I went back into treatment, and have been sober since. But I do not recommend angel medical center at all.
