The Linton Hospital opened October 26, 1953, as a 20-bed hospital managed by the seven Sisters of St. Francis of Tiffin, Ohio. The Linton Medical Center was built in 1967, and the hospital was remodeled in 1975-76. The facility became a federally recognized Critical Access Hospital in 2004. Today the Linton Hospital is a 14 bed facility, with 24 hour emergency services, and three affiliated clinics: Linton Medical Center, Hazelton Clinic, and Campbell County Clinic in Herreid.
