Dr. David Dyck Jr. is a sports medicine and family medicine physician. He is a team physician with USA Volleyball and coordinates medical coverage for their High Performance Programs. He travels internationally with USA Volleyball teams, including Mexico, Canada, and Italy and has served as team physician for FIVB World Championships in Morocco and India.
Dr. Dyck is a past member of the Board of Directors for the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine (AOASM). He currently serves on the Education and Evaluation Committee for both the AOASM and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP).
A founding member of Global Event Medicine (GEM), he currently serves as Chief Medical Officer. GEM is a local company specializing in medical care at mass participation events. His experiences with mass participation events include : the Ironman? Triathlon in Kona, Hawaii, local events for USA Cycling, USA Triathlon, USA Cyclocross, USA Volleyball, and Amateur Softball Association sanctioned championship events.
Dr. Dyck has been a featured speaker at local, regional, and national medical conferences and has published several scientific articles relating to sports medicine topics. He has spent the last 10 years educating medical students and residents on physical diagnosis and sports medicine at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.
Dr. Dyck is a Director at Midwest Sports Medicine Physicians where he specializes in the care of the athlete and the active individual with musculoskeletal complaints. He is skilled in osteopathic manipulation techniques and utilizes those skills to return individuals to their active lifestyles.
In addition to his dedication to the field of sports medicine, he has continued to demonstrate a passion for serving the underserved. As a past president of DOCARE International NFP, he has spent the past 10 years organizing and participating in outreach programs to Mexico and Guatemala.
