Interventional Jarrett McGehee, MD practices with Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio and sees patients primarily at the Medical Center location.
Dr. McGehee was originally headed toward a career in epidemiology until moonlighting in the emergency room veered him in a direction that would involve both patient care and procedures. "I thought about trauma surgery, but wanted more patient care. I wanted to do everything - and being an interventional cardiologist is better than I ever imagined," says Dr. McGehee, who loves the challenge of difficult, life or death situations in the cath lab as much as he enjoys taking his time with his patients in the clinic.
After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology and chemistry from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, Dr. McGehee completed a medical degree, his residency - including serving as chief resident - and both his cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.
Dr. McGehee went into private practice following his interventional cardiology fellowship and served as Cardiology Section Chief and Director of the Echocardiography Lab at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital at the Medical Center in San Antonio.
